Welcome to NY Sustainable Ag News! This newsletter is being brought to you by NY SARE outreach (Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education), a division of Northeast SARE. In the Sustainable Ag Quarterly, you will find information about SARE’s funding opportunities, including grant opportunities, professional development scholarships and sponsorship opportunities. You will also read stories of how farmers, educators and communities use SARE grants to explore new ways to advance sustainable agriculture. But this newsletter is much more than that. It is a showcase for the growing number of organizations in New York addressing issues in food and agriculture system sustainability. Look for a spotlight in every issue featuring a group offering a fresh approach to enhancing sustainable agriculture and community development.
If you have news or events you would like to submit, please contact Violet Stone at 607-255-9227 or vws7@cornell.edu.
The NY SARE Outreach Office is housed at Cornell University and directed by NY SARE Outreach Coordinator Violet Stone and NY SARE Professional Development Coordinator Anu Rangarajan. A team of sustainable agriculture leaders across the state assist developing outreach tools and programming.
